India's Mukund Sasikumar and Vishnu Vardhan Secured Doubles Title at ITF M25 Mysuru Open

India’s Mukund Sasikumar and Vishnu Vardhan justified the doubles crown at the recently concluded ITF $25,000 Men’s Tennis Tournament held at the Mysore Tennis Club. In a thrilling final, the Indian duo defeated the top-seeded pair of Niki Poonacha and Rithvik Bollipalli in straight sets 6-3 6-4.

The victory was even sweeter as Vishnu and Mukund had to overcome a string of tough opponents, including the second-seeded Australian Ukrainian pair of Blake Ellis and Vladyslav Orlov in the semifinals 6-4 7-5. In fact, the duo showed great powers of concentration by winning their second match of the day, staying focused on the task, and displaying consistency in their game.

The Indian pair had to ward off seven break points in the final, while they converted two opportunities to break their opponents, making it an easy win for them. The glittering awards ceremony witnessed Manoj Kumar, the Secretary of the Mysore Tennis Club, handing over the trophy to the winners.

While the doubles crown went to India, the singles campaign of the country ended in the semifinals, where Mysuru lad S D Prajwal Dev went down fighting to George Loffhagen of Britain in a tight match that lasted for precisely two hours, ending in a scoreline of 5-7, 4-6.

In the singles final, George Loffhagen of Great Britain emerged victorious after an epic encounter, beating Blake Ellis of Australia 4-6 6-2 7-6(4). It was a great tournament for the Indian tennis players, with Mukund and Vishnu leading the way in the doubles category. The victory will surely give them the confidence to perform well in the upcoming tournaments
