Top seeds Niki and Zeel reach Fenesta Open 2021 Finals

The number one seeds in both Men’s and Women’s singles draw, Niki K. Poonacha and Zeel Desai have justified their top billing and reached the finals of the Fenesta Open National Championship being held at the RK Khanna Tennis Stadium from 25th to 30th October in New Delhi.
Playing fourth seed Paras Dahiya in his semi clash, Poonacha looked in control in the first set but Dahiya fought back hard in the second to make it one set each. Poonacha wrapped up the final set quickly and won the match 6-3, 6-7(7), 6-1 and booked his finals berth.
In the other semi-final of the day among Men, Digvijay Pratap Singh ousted third seed Nitin Kumar Sinha 6-1, 5-7, 7-5.
Poonacha is slated to meet Digvijay Pratap Singh for the summit clash tomorrow, after the women’s singles final.
Desai, among the women’s at semi-finals, emerged victorious over Samhitha Sai Chamarthi in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 even as Sharmada Balu upset second seeded Vaidehi Chaudhari 6-4, 6-3. Zeel Desai and Sharmada Balu will be vying for the top prize in women’s singles tomorrow at 9 am.
Doubles finals were played out today with Sharmada Balu and Sravya Shivani Chilakalapudi taking home the Women’s Doubles Championship trophy while top seeds in Men’s Doubles draw Prajwal SD Dev & get the biggest prize money among Men in doubles.
