Eruption of joy after a long wait as the players hit the court on the first day of the Junior Billie Jean King Cup 2022 here in R.K. Khanna Tennis Complex, New Delhi.

Team India is pitted against Malayasia, Uzbekistan, and Iran in Group C of the tournament.

The other Groups have the following teams :

Group A: Japan, Mongolia, and Hong Kong

Group B  Australia, Srilanka, Indonesia, and Thailand.

Group: Kazakhstan, Korea, Vietnam, and Singapore.

Two top teams from each group will qualify for the quarterfinals.

Captain of team India and the former Tennis star of the country Archana Venkatraman expressed her hope that our three champs Shruti Ahlawat, Niyati Kukreti, and Riya Sachdeva will prove equal to the challenge of the other teams over the next five days.
