Javia, Dahiya in round two of $15000 KPIT–MSLTA ITF WTT Cup Mens tennis championships

Indian junior Dev Javia and qualifier Paras Dahiya entered the second round of the main draw at the $15000 KPIT –MSLTA ITF WTT Cup Men’s tennis championships being organized by MSLTA in association with Deccan Gymkhana and played at their tennis courts.

In the opening round, Dev Javia who made it to the main draw as ITF junior reserve spot put out Wildcard Sai Karteek Reddy Ganta 7-6(2), 6-4.

In a match between qualifiers, Paras Dahiya proved better rallying past Suraj R Prabodh 6-2, 7-6(10).

Qualifier Henry Patten of Britain, Hungary’s Zsombor Velcz, Sweden’s fifth seed Jonathan Mridha and his compatriot Filip Bergevi were the other players to make the second round in the singles.

 

In the biggest upset in the doubles event scratch pair of Faisal Qamar and Dhruv Sunish who signed up at the very last minute for the doubles event and made the draw as the last team, upset top seeds N. Vijay Sundar Prashanth and Vishnu Vardhan 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 to make the quarter finals.
