Play suspended during the second round match of Ankita Raina at ITF W100 event in Landisville

The second-round match between India’s Ankita Raina and Polish Katarzyna Kawa got suspended midway at the ITF W100 event in Landisville, Pennsylvania after two hours and 12 minutes of action on court.

Raina facing the 176th ranked Kawa got off to a slow start and lost the first set 3-6.

Kawa made five double faults while Raina managed with keep the figure to zero. The high conversion rate of breakpoints won was evident in the first set scoreline as Raina could only break thrice out of the five opportunities while her opponent produced seven opportunities and succeeded five times.

During the second set which lasted for one hour 2 minutes, Raina gained her momentum and took the second set 7-6 after a close fight.

The match, however, got suspended during the third set after 24 minutes of play and Kawa leading 1-0.
