India to host Denmark on 4-5 March next year in Davis Cup World Group I Play-offs
- Draws announced for the 12 Davis Cup by Rakuten Qualifier ties, as well as 12 ties in both the World Group I Play-offs and World Group II Play-offs
- All 36 ties to take place on a home-and-away basis on 4-5 March
The ITF and Kosmos Tennis have announced the draw for the 2022 Davis Cup by Rakuten Qualifiers, which took place in Madrid ahead of the 2021 final between Croatia and Russian Tennis Federation on Sunday.
The draws for the Davis Cup World Group I Play-offs and World Group II Play-offs were also held on Sunday. India is set to host Denmark in a home tie in 2022 in the World Group I Play-offs. With a win in this tie, India could progress to the 2022 World Group I ties in September.
The Qualifiers, World Group I Play-offs and World Group II Play-offs will take place on 4-5 March – a total of 36 ties to be played on a home-and-away basis in 36 cities around the world.
The 12 winning nations from the 2022 Qualifiers will advance to Finals, where they will join Croatia, Russian Tennis Federation, Great Britain and Serbia in a 16-nation line-up. The 12 losing nations from the Qualifiers will compete in the 2022 World Group I ties in September.
The 12 winning nations from the 2022 World Group I Play-offs will progress to the 2022 World Group I ties. The 12 losing nations will contest the 2022 World Group II ties.
The 12 winning nations from the 2022 World Group II Play-offs will progress to 2022 World Group II ties. The 12 losing nations will compete in regional Group III events later in 2022.
The 2022 World Group I and World Group II ties will all be played on a home-and-away basis on 16-17 or 17-18 September.
