Bhosale - Webley Smith lift doubles title at $ 25000 KPIT –MSLTA ITF WTT Cup tennis championships
Top seeds Rutuja Bhosale of India and Emily Webley Smith of Great Britain lifted the doubles title at the $ 25000 KPIT –MSLTA ITF WTT Cup tennis championships organized by MSLTA in association with Deccan Gymkhana and played on the Deccan Gymkhana tennis courts.
In the doubles finals played Rutuja Bhosale and Emily Webley-Smith won their second 25K event on the ITF circuit as they trounced second seeded Riya Bhatia of India and Miriam Bianca Bulgaru (Rou) 6-2, 7-5 to lift the finals
Rutuja and Emily Webley Smith won 50 WTA points and $1437(₹1,05,000) while the Runners up had to be content with 30 WTA points and $719 (₹52000). The pair had earlier won a similar event at Jodhpur in February 2020 just before the lockdown . Rutuja will move into the top 200 in the doubles
The prizes were given away at the hands of Mr Kishor Patil VP MSLTA and President Of PMDTA, Pune District Collector Dr Rajendra Deshmukh, Former Divisional Commissioner Chandrakant Dalvi , MSLTA Secretary Sunder Iyer , Mr Vishwas Lokare Hon Sec of Deccan Gymkhana . ITF supervisor Sheetal Iyer and Ashwin Girme Tennis Secretary Deccan Gymkhana were present on the occasion
