Nagal, buoyed by recent successes including a pivotal victory at the Heilbronn Challenger, has broken into the top 80 of the ATP singles rankings. His journey from a standout performance at the 2020 Tokyo Games to solidifying his place among India’s top singles players underscores his growing stature in international tennis.
Nagal, the first Indian man in over three decades to defeat a seeded player in a Grand Slam, expressed his excitement, emphasizing the significance of representing India at Paris 2024. “The Olympics hold a special place in my heart,” he shared on social media, reflecting on his career milestones and setting ambitious goals for the upcoming games.
Adding to the team’s synergy, Balachandran Manikkath will serve as coach, bringing strategic insight and mentorship, while Rebecca Van Orshaegen joins as the team’s physiotherapist, ensuring peak physical conditioning throughout the tournament.
