Indian girls set for World Tennis 14&U Junior Team Finals in Czechia

India’s Srishti Kiran, Padmapriya Ramesh Kumar and Zoha Qureshi are set to represent the country at the 2026 World Tennis 14&U Junior Team Finals, scheduled to take place in Prostejov, Czechia, from August 3-8, 2026.

The three-member Indian girls’ team will be led by captain Asha Sharma as India joins 15 other nations at one of the most important international team competitions for players aged 14 and under.

Previously known as the World Junior Tennis Finals, the competition has been renamed the World Tennis 14&U Junior Team Finals following the rebranding of the International Tennis Federation as World Tennis.

India among 16 nations at the World Finals

India will compete alongside Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, hosts Czechia, Egypt, Germany, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Morocco, Slovakia, Sweden, Ukraine and the USA at this year’s girls’ Finals.

The tournament provides young players with an opportunity to represent their countries on the world stage while experiencing the unique demands of international team competition at an important stage of their development.

For Srishti, Padmapriya and Zoha, the Finals will offer an opportunity to test themselves against some of the best 14-and-under players from around the world.

Part of a Proven Pathway to the Highest Level

The significance of the competition extends well beyond the title at stake in Prostejov.

Over the years, the event has formed part of the development journey of several players who subsequently reached the highest levels of professional tennis and represented their countries at senior level.

Carlos Alcaraz, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Lorenzo Musetti, Elina Svitolina, Alex de Minaur and Mirra Andreeva are among the players who competed at the event during their junior years before going on to establish themselves on the ATP and WTA Tours and at Grand Slam level.

The competition therefore represents an important opportunity for India’s young players to gain valuable international exposure at a formative stage of their careers.

Srishti and Padmapriya continue their European journey

The World Finals will also extend an important period of international exposure for Srishti Kiran and Padmapriya Ramesh Kumar.

The two Indians are currently part of the GSPDP/WT/ATF 14&U Team to Europe 2026, a month-long development programme featuring training and tournament competition across France, Germany and Belgium.

Their selection for the Asian team was based on performances during the season and the ATF 14&U rankings, placing them among a select group of promising players from across the continent chosen for the European programme.

They will now have another opportunity to compete on the international stage, this time wearing Indian colours alongside Zoha Qureshi at the World Tennis 14&U Junior Team Finals.
