BHUVANA KALVA MEETS SHARANNYA GAWARE IN FINAL

Bhuvana Kalva overcame an indifferent start to beat Saumya Vig 1-6, 6-1, 6-2 in the women’s semifinals of the Rs.100,000 AITA ranking tennis tournament at the CLTA Complex on Thursday.

In the final, Bhuvana will play qualifier Sharannya Gaware who beat fourth seed Dakshata Patel 7-5, 6-3.

In the men’s section, lucky-loser and top seed Ishaque Eqbal outplayed Vipul Mehta for the loss of three games to set up a title clash against Calvin Golmei.

Women: Bhuvana Kalva bt Saumya Vig 1-6, 6-1, 6-2; Sharannya Gaware bt Dakshata Patel 7-5, 6-3.
