RENNE SINGLA BOUNCES BACK FROM THE EXIT DOOR IN ASIAN UNDER-14 TENNIS
Renne Singla continued to impress as she recovered from the brink of elimination to beat second seed Lanlana Tararudee of Thailand 3-6, 7-6(3), 7-5 in the girls quarterfinals of the Asian under-14 tennis championship in Nonthaburi, Thailand, on Thursday.
The other Indian girl, Sanjana Sirimalla, however, was beaten in three sets by Kazakh, Stefanya Shalakhova.
In the boys section, Udit Gogoi and Aman Dahiya made it to the singles semifinals, while Chirag Duhan was beaten in two tie-breaks by fifth seed Min Seong Kim of Korea.
Udit was the lone Indian to progress to the doubles final, and did so in partnership with Min-Joon Kim.

Doubles (semifinals): Min-Joon Kim (Kor) & Udit Gogoi bt Mitsuki Wei Kang Leong & Christian Andre Sheng Liew (Mas) 6-4, 0-6, [11-9].
Girls (quarterfinals): Stefanya Shalakhova (Kaz) bt Sanjana Sirimalla 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-1; Renne Singla bt Lanlana Tararudee (Tha) 3-6, 7-6(3), 7-5.
