SHRIVALLI RASHMIKAA BHAMIDIPATY WINS TICKET TO PARIS
Despite his rich experience in the international circuit, top seed Siddhant Banthia had to battle hard to beat the national sub-junior champion Mann Maulik Shah 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(3) in the boys final of the Rendezvous Roland Garros French Open junior wild card tennis tournament on the clay courts of the DLTA Complex on Friday.
Siddhant Banthia had won the honour earlier as well, and has also been competing in the Grand Slams in the international junior circuit.
The title in the girls section was bagged by Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty who beat Tanisha Kashyap in the final.
Both the champions will compete with other similar champions in the international event in Paris to decide the recipient of the French Open junior wild card.
The results:
Boys (final): Siddhant Banthia bt Mann Maulik Shah 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(3); Third place: Calvin Golmei w.o. Dev Javia.
Girls (final): Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty bt Tanisha Kashyap 6-4, 6-4; Third place: Prinkle Singh w.o. Yubarani Banerjee.
