Bopanna-Shapovalov valiant effort falls short at Quarters stage in Marseille
Last week’s ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament’s semi-finalist pair of India’s Rohan Bopanna and Canadian Denis Shapovalov has crashed out of the Open 13 Provence – an ATP Tour 250 event being held in Marseille, France.
The Indo-Canadian duo made a valiant fight in the quarter-finals which went down the wire before Denmark’s Frederik Neilsen and Germany’s Tim Puetz managed to squeeze out the win 7-5, 6-7, 10-8.
Bopanna-Shapovalov served nine aces against four by their opponents and one less double fault than Neilsen-Puetz’s three during the entire match.
