Lakshmi Prabha wins a double crown in AITA junior tennis

Lakshmi Prabha Arunkumar of Tamil Nadu won both the girls under-18 and 16 titles in the St. Stephen’s School AITA Super series junior tennis tournament at the CLTA Complex on Friday.

Lakshmi beat qualifier Ruma Gaikaiwari 6-4, 6-4 for the girls under-18 title. She had a better fight from second seed Anjali Rathi in the under-16 event, before she prevailed 7-5, 7-6(6).

The results (finals):

Boys: Under-18: Krishan Hooda bt Shashikant Rajput 6-2, 6-1.

Under-16: Jitin Kumar Chetry bt Sukhpreet Singh Jhoje 6-1, 6-3.

Girls: Under-18: Lakshmi Prabha bt Ruma Gaikaiwari 6-4, 6-4.

Under-16: Lakshmi Prabha bt Anjali Rathi 7-5, 7-6(6).
