Mahak Jain bows out in first round
Two-time National champion Mahak Jain found Amina Anshba’s game too hot to handle and was beaten 6-2, 6-0 by the 373rd Russian in the first round of the IWTC $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Navi Mumbai on Tuesday.
In doubles, Riya Bhatia in partnership with Sandra Samir of Egypt reached the quarterfinals, past the Koreans, Choi Ji-Hee and Kim Na Ri, to face the top seeds Ulrikke Eikeri of Norway and Valeria Savinykh of Russia.
