Ankita Raina in singles semifinals and doubles final in Solapur
Ankita Raina continued with her good run and reached the singles semifinals and doubles final of the Precision $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Solapur on Friday.
The second seeded Ankita bounced back from an indifferent start to beat Sandra Samir of Egypt 1-6, 6-4, 6-1. She will play Katie Boulter of Britain in the semifinals.
In doubles, Ankita and Ulrikke Eikeri of Norway won 10-8 in the super tie-break against Sandra Samir and Ekaterina Yashina.
The Indo-Norwegian pair will face Berfu Cengiz and Despina Papamichail who knocked out second seeds Emily Webley-Smith and Rutuja Bhosale for the loss of four games.
