Ankita Raina eases past Riya Bhatia
Ankita Raina continued to assert her domination over Riya Bhatia as she sailed into the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-4 victory in the Precision $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Solapur on Thursday.
The second seeded Ankita, who had beaten Riya in her last two meetings as well, will play Sandra Samir of Egypt in the quarterfinals.
Vaidehi Chaudhari went down fighting in three sets to Naiktha Bains of Britain, while Jennifer Luikham was beaten by Yuan Yue of China.
Ankita Raina and Ruruja Bhosale also made the doubles semifinals with Ulrikke Eikeri of Norway and Emily Webley-Smith of Britain respectively.
