Shrivalli Bhamidipaty loses early in $25,000 ITF women’s tennis in Solapur
Punnin Kovapitukted of Thailand sailed past Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty 6-4, 6-2 in the first qualifying round of the $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament at the MSLTA Tennis Centre in Solapur on Sunday.
The eighth seeded Thai will play Soha Sadiq in the second and final qualifying round.
There will be other interesting matches in the final qualifying round, as two time national champion Mahak Jain faces Humera Shaik, and Zeel Desai takes on Vaidehi Chaudhari.
Ramya Natarajan, Pooja Ingale and Jennifer Luikham are some of the other Indians in the final qualifying round.
The main draw is scheduled to feature Ankita Raina, Riya Bhatia and Rutuja Bhosale apart from the wild cards.
