Suraj Prabodh and Ishaque Eqbal in final

Suraj Prabodh brought an end to the fine run of qualifier and top seed Kunal Anand with a 6-1, 7-6(4) defeat in the semifinals of the Rs.250,000 AITA men’s ranking tennnis tournament at the Harvest Tennis Academy, Jassowal, on Thursday.

In the final, Suraj will play second seed Ishaque Eqbal who beat fourth seed Jatin Dahiya 6-1, 7-5.

In the doubles final, top seeds Mohit Mayur and Ishaque Eqbal beat the Sood twins, Chandril and Lakshit 10-5 in the super tie-break.

The results:

Singles (semifinals): Suraj Prabodh bt Kunal Anand 6-1, 7-6(4); Ishaque Eqbal bt Jatin Dahiya 6-1, 7-5.

Doubles (final): Mohit Mayur & Ishaque Eqbal bt Chandril Sood & Lakshit Sood 4-6, 6-3, [10-5].
