Mahak Jain wins maiden ITF title in Nairobi

Two-time National women’s champion and the Khelo India Youth Games champion Mahak Jain won her maiden international crown as she beat Sada Nahimana of Burundi 6-1, 6-4 in the final of the $15,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Nairobi, Kenya, on Sunday.

Coached by Sajid Lodi in Indore, the 18-year-old Mahak did not drop a set in winning the tournament. She dropped only 18 games in all in five matches, and did not concede more than five games in any match.

Leading a bunch of 10 Indian players, Mahak will continue in Nairobi for another tournament.
