Rohan Bopanna in Hamburg quarterfinals with Pablo Carreno Busta

Rohan Bopanna in partnership with Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain beat the former world No.1 Nenad Zimonjic of Sebria and Rudolf Molleker of Germany 6-3, 5-7, 10-3 in the doubles pre-quarterfinals of the € 1,855, 490 ATP-500 tennis tournament in Hamburg, Germany, on Wednesday.

In the ATP event in Atlanta, Prajnesh Gunneswaran was unable to capitalise on a good start and was beaten 6-7(4), 7-5, 6-0 by qualifier Kwon Soonwoo of Korea in the first round. Prajnesh collected $7,000 for the outing.

In the doubles pre-quarterfinals, Leander Paes in partnership with Marius Copil of Romania was beaten 7-6(2), 6-4 by Tayor friz and Cameron Norrie.

In the ATP event in Switzerland, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Purav Raja had a robust start as they ousted the second seeds Denys Molchanov and Igor Zelenay for the loss of six games.

In the ITF men’s Futures in Thailand, Manish Sureshkumar won both his singles, and the doubles with NIki Poonacha. He was joined in the singles pre-quarterfinals by Abhinav Sanjeev Shanmugam and second seed Arjun Kadhe.
