Leander Paes, seeded third in partnership with Marcus Daniell of New Zealand, beat Max Purcell and Luke Saville of Australia 2-6, 6-2, 10-5 in the doubles pre-quarterfinals of the $652,245 Hall of Fame ATP tennis tournament in Newport, Rhode Island.

In the Challenger in Kazakhstan, Sidharth Rawat beat the Uzbek Davis Cupper Sanjar Fayziev with surprising ease at 6-2, 6-2.
