Ramkumar wins Challenger doubles title in Italy
Ramkumar Ramanathan in partnership with Goncalo Oliveira of Portugal beat second seeds Andrea Vavassori of Italy and David Vega-Hernandez of Spain 6-2, 6-4 in the doubles final of the € 46,600 Challenger tennis tournament in Recanati, Italy, on Sunday.
The title was worth 80 ATP points and € 2,670. The runners-up collected 48 points and €1,550.
It was the first Challenger doubles title of the season for Ramkumar. He had won the Pune Challenger last year with Vijay Sundar Prashanth.
The 24-year-old has won 16 singles titles and 15 doubles titles in the ITF Futures circuit.
