Ramkumar loses quarterfinals, makes doubles final in Italy
Ramkumar Ramanathan was beaten 6-4, 6-1 by Mats Moraing of Germany in the quarterfinals of the €46,600 Challenger tennis tournament in Recanati, Italy.
However, Ramkumar in partnership with Goncalo Oliveira of Portugal, made the doubles final at the expense of top seeds Hans Podlipnik-Castillo of Chile and Tristan-Samuel Weissborn of Austria.
The duo had bounced from the brink of defeat for a 1-6, 7-6(6), 10-8 victory over the Spaniards Enrique Lopez Perez and Adrian Menendez-Maceiras in the quarterfinals.
