Sanjana Sirimalla and Krishan Hooda emerge champions
Top seed Sanjana Sirimalla and fifth seed Krishan Hooda emerged champions in contrasting ways in the Yonex Sunrise National under-16 tennis championhip at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) courts in Mumbai on Saturday.
Sanjana cruised past seventh seed Renne Singla 6-3, 6-1, while Krishan fought back after an erratic start to beat fourth seed Dhruv Tangri 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
The champions were rewarded with 200 AITA ranking points, and the runners-up with 150.
The results (finals):
Boys: 5-Krishan Hooda (CH) bt 4-Dhruv Tangri (MH) 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Girls: 1-Sanjana Sirimalla (TS) bt 7-Renne Singla (HR) 6-3, 6-1.
