Indian boys progress to pre-quarterfinals in Asian under-14 tennis

Yuvan Nandal beat seventh seed Quang Vinh Nguyen of Vietnam 7-5, 6-4 in the boys second round of the ITF Asian under-14 Division-1 Development tennis tournament in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Tuesday.

Yuvan was joined in the pre-quarterfinals by the two other Indian players, Agriya Yadav and Ayushmaan Arjeria, seeded fifth and eighth respectively.

The results:

Boys (second round): Agriya Yadav bt Amirali Ghavam (IRI) 6-3, 6-1; Yuvan Nandal bt Quang Vinh Nguyen (VIE) 7-5, 6-4; Ayushmaan Arjeria bt Ismail Turdiev (UZB) 6-3, 6-1.
