Sasi Kumar Mukund in second round of Gwangju Challenger
Sasi Kumar Mukund cruised past Aldin Setkic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first round of the $54,160 Challenger tennis tournament in Gwangju, Korea, on Monday.
In the second round, Mukund will play the alternate entrant Yusuke Takahashi of Japan who replaced top-seed Ricardas Berankis of Lithuania. Berankis had withdrawn owing to a shoulder injury.
In doubles, Vishnu Vardhan in partnership with Toshihide Matsui of Japan, set up a repeat clash with the top seeds Cheng-Peng Hsieh of Chinese Taipei and Christopher Rungkat of Indonesia. The two teams had clashed in the final of the Busan Challenger on Sunday.
