Vaidehi Chaudhari in main draw in Jodhpur
Vaidehi Chaudhari beat Avika Sagwal 6-1, 7-5 and made the main draw of the $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Jodhpur on Monday.
Vaidehi won her first qualifying round and had a bye in the second and final round, as she joined the four wild card entrants Sowjanya Bavisetti,, Mahak Jain, Riya Bhatia and Zeel Desai in the main event.
As per the new rules, the qualifying event was being played on Monday and Tuesday, with the main draw spanning Tuesday to Sunday.
For Mahak Jain and Riya Bhatia, the tournament will serve as the final preparation before the Fed Cup to be held in Kazakhstan.
