Ankita Raina in second round in Singapore
Ankita Raina, fresh from her title triumph last week, started on a brisk fashion as she beat Cagla Buyukakcay of Turkey 6-3, 6-2 in the first round of the $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Singapore on Tuesday.
The sixth seeded Ankita, has opted not to compete in the doubles, possibly to preserve herself for the events ahead, including the Fed Cup in Kazakhstan.
Aryan Goveas beat Maksim Tikhomirov of the US 6-4, 6-4 in the first round of the $15,000 ITF men’s Futures in Tunisia.
