Mahak Jain reach the semifinals of $25K ITF women’s tennis at Navi Mumbai
Two-time National champion Mahak Jain continued with her fine run and made the semifinals of the IWTC $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament at the Ganesh Naik Tennis Complex in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.
The 17-year-old Mahak, coached by Sajid Lodi in Indore, beat eighth seed Tessah Andrianjafitrimo of France 6-3, 7-5.
In the semifinals, Mahak will challenge the second seed Barbara Haas of Austria.
In the doubles however, the Indian challenge ended, as Prarthana Thombare in partnership with Diana Marcinkevica of Latvia was beaten 10-7 in the super tie-break by
Berfu Cengiz and Jessy Rompies.
