Rutuja bhosale knocks out top seed Tamara Zidansek
Wild card entrant Rutuja Bhosale knocked out the top seed and champion of the last event in Pune, Tamara Zidansek of Slovenia, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinals of the Oasis Solapur Open $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament on Thursday.
In the semifinals, the 22-year-old Rutuja, ranked 375, will play fourth seed Jia-Jing Lu of China.
The other semifinal will be between fifth seed Quirine Lemoine of the Netherlands and Marina Melnikova of Russia.
in doubles, Rutuja had to play two rounds, and her team retired after five games in the semifinals.
