Arjun Kadhe beats Ramkumar Ramanathan in first round of Pune Challenger
Wild card Arjun Kadhe knocked out second seed Ramkumar Ramanathan 6-3, 6-2 in the first round of the KPIT $50,000 Challenger tennis tournament in Pune on Tuesday.
Arjun will play Brayden Schnur of Canada in the pre-quarterfinals.
Another wild card Sasi Kumar Mukund beat Saketh Myneni, the finalist of the last event in Bengaluru 6-4, 7-6(1) to set up a second round against sixth seed Jay Clarke of Britain.
Champion last week, and the best ranked Indian at the moment on the ATP computer, Prajnesh Gunneswaran progressed with a 6-4, 6-4 win over the former Asian junor champion Tsung-Hua Yang of Chinese Taipei.
