Kunal anand beats Mohit mayur in Tribune cup

Kunal Anand got past former national champion and third seed Mohit Mayur 6-2, 1-0 when the latter retired in the men’s quarterfinals of the Rs.300,000 Tribune Cup AITA ranking tennis tournament at the CLTA Complex on Wednesday.

Jatin Dahiya knocked out the fourth seed Ishaque Eqbal 7-6(2), 3-6, 6-0.

In the women’s event, second seed Humera Shaik fought her way past the wiry Kaavya Sawhney 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-3.

Women: Sai Samhitha bt Prathyusha Rachapudi 3-6, 5-0 (conceded); Farhat Aleen Qamar bt Vanshita Pathania 6-4, 6-4; Prathiba Narayan bt Sonashe Bhatnagar 6-4, 6-1; Humera Shaik bt Kaavya Sawhney 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-3.
