Vaidehi Chaudhari wins Asian ranking women’s tennis title
Wild card entrant Vaidehi Chaudhari outplayed Soha Sadiq in the final of the $3,000 FinIQ Asian ranking women’s tennis tournament organised by Navnath Shete Sports Academy at the Metrocity Courts in Pune on Sunday.
The champion collected 40 ranking points and Rs.31,500. The runner-up gained 25 points and Rs.21,000.
A trainee of coach Jignesh Raval in Ahmedabad, the 19-year-old Vaidehi had pulled through a tough three-setter against top seed Sai Samhitha in the semifinals. Jignesh and another leading coach in Ahmedabad, Shrimal Bhat, along with Alexander Tennis University have combined to provide the best of expertise to the trainees.
The results (final): Vaidehi Chaudhari bt Soha Sadiq 6-2, 6-1.
