UDIT GOGOI ENDS RUNNER-UP TO CHAK LAM COLEMAN WONG IN ASIAN UNDER-14 TENNIS

Top seed Udit Gogoi stumbled for once in a fortnight in singles as he was beaten 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 by second seed Chak Lam Coleman Wong of Hong Kong in the boys final of the Asian under-14 tennis championship which concluded in Nonthaburi, Thailand, on Saturday.

Udit had beaten the Hong Kong boy in the final last week at the same venue.

In the girls final, top seed Alexandra Eala of Philippines outplayed third seed Tatyana NIkolenko of Kazakhstan for the loss of two games.

The best players in the boys and girls sections from the two tournaments will be selected by the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) and sent for competition and training In Europe.

The results (finals):

Boys: Chak Lam Coleman Wong (Hkg) bt Udit Gogoi 1-6, 6-1, 6-3.

Girls: Alexandra Eala (Phi) bt Tatyana Nikolenko (Kaz) 6-2, 6-0.
