Sumit Nagal loses semifinals, Ramkumar tumbles in doubles final

Sumit Nagal’s fine run over two weeks on clay came to an end, as he was beaten 6-4, 6-1 by Juan Pablo Ficovich of Argentina in the semifinals of the $54,160 Challenger tennis tournament in Campinas, Brazil.

Sumit, who had won the Challenger last week in Buenos Aires, to reach a career best rank of 35, collected 29 ATP points and $2,510.

In the Challenger in Barcelona, Ramkumar Ramanathan in partnership with Sergio Martos Gornes of Spain was beaten in the doubles final by Simone Bolelli of Italy and David Vega Hernandez of Spain.
