Rutuja Bhosale in singles quaterfinals and boubles semifinals in australia
Qualifier Rutuja Bhosale continued with her good game and knocked out fourth seed Su Jeong Jang of Korea 2-6, 6-1, 7-5 in the first round of the $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Australia on Wednesday.
Rutuja made the doubles semifinals as well with Shilin Xu of China.
In a similar tournament in Lagos, Nigeria, Pranjala Yadlapalli beat National champion Riya Bhatia 6-4, 6-4 to make the quarterfinals.
In the men’s Futures in Nigeria, Aryan Goveas reached the quarterfinals.
In the Challenger in Mexico, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan in partnership with Marcelo Arevalo of Estonia reached the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 7-6(5) victory over ADrian Menendez-Maceiras and Mark Vervoort.
