RUTUJA BHOSALE IN QUARTERFINALS IN CHINA
Rutuja Bhosale bounced back from an indifferent start to beat seventh seed Yue Yuan of China 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 in the pre-quarterfinals of the $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in China on Thursday.
Rutuja, however, was beaten in the doubles semifinals, in partnership with Shilin Xu of China.
In the Challenger on hard courts in Italy, top seed Ramkumar Ramanathan was beaten 7-6(5), 7-6(8) by Daniel Brands of Germany.
The Indian challenge ended in Malaysia men’s Futures, as Siddharth Vishwakarma was beaten in the singles quarterfinals by second seed David Perez Sanz of Spain, while the second seeded Sood twins, Chandril and Lakshit lost the doubles quarterfinals.
