Purav Raja and Adil Shamasdin off to a winning start at Bergamo Challenger
India’s Purav Raja, who won the doubles title at the Bengaluru Challenger last week with Ramkumar Ramanathan, is off to a winning start with Canada’s Adil Shamasdin in company at the Bermago Challenger in Italy.
Raja-Shamasdin, who are the top seeds this week, defeated Croatia’s Nino Serdarusic and Chinese Taipei’s Chun-Hsin Tseng 6-4, 3-6, 10-3 in the Round of 16.
Local lad Julian Ocleppo and his Czech partner Zdenek Kolar will be the quarter-finals opponents of Raja-Shamasdin at Bermago.
Since November 2019, Purav Raja has tasted success thrice on the Challenger Tour.
