Paes-Ebden register a roaring upset against second seeds Dodig-Polasek in Dubai, Prajnesh ousted in Singles

The One Last Roar swan song of Leander Paes along with his Aussie partner Matthew Ebden registered an emphatic upset win over Croatia’s Ivan Dodig and Slovakia’s Filip Polasek 6-4, 6-3 at the ATP 500 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships 2020.

The wild card entrants shocked the second seeded pair to enter the last eight in the tournament and will now face Finland’s Henri Kontinen and his German partner Jan-Lennard Stuff. The Finnish-German duo has come into the main draw via qualifiers and had defeated Rohan Bopanna and his Spanish partner Pablo Busta en route to the main draw.

In the singles, Indian representation ended early as Prajnesh Gunneswaran, who was given a wild card, failed to capitalize on the opportunity and lost in the first round 4-6, 3-6 against Dennis Novak of Austria.
