Our Asian games medalists with Prime minister - Narendra Modi ‏

Tennis is an extremely challenging sport that calls for stamina and hardwork. The Indian tennis team has made us all proud by bringing home one Gold medal and two Bronze medals. Delighted to personally meet and congratulate our talented tennis player - Narendra Modi

Rohan Bopanna and Diwij Sharan came up with a dominating performance in the finals to win the men’s doubles tennis gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games.

The top seeds defeated their Kazakh opponents Aleksander Bublik and Denis Yevseyev of Kazakhstan 6-3, 6-4 in 52 minutes. This was India’s first gold in tennis at the meet in Jakarta-Palembang, Indonesia.

Ankita Raina had earlier won the women’s single’s tennis bronze medal, only the third individual Asian Games women’s tennis medal for India. The earlier two had both been won by Sania Mirza.
