Niki Poonacha elected as Player Member to ITF World Tennis Tour Player Panels
The International Tennis Federation has announced the list of players elected to the ITF World Tennis Tour Player Panels and India’s Niki Poonacha is elected as the one of the two players from Asia/Ocenia region with second highest number of votes (62) among all contesting players. Ti Chen from Taipei with 14 votes is the second player from Asia/Oceania region.
Elections for the panels, which will provide a forum for players to provide their input and have their say on how the tour is run, took place between 28 May and 10 June, with more than 1,000 athletes who compete on the ITF World Tennis Tour voting for their preferred nominee.
A total of 576 completed ballots were received for the 13 players who particiated in the election from regions – Europe, Asia/Oceania, South America, North and Central America, Caribbean.
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Aldin Setkic from Europe was elected with highest number of votes (193).
A total of six player members were elected in the Men’s Tennis Panel, namely:

Niki Poonacha (IND)
Juan Pablo Paz (ARG)
Aldin Sektic (BIH)
Francesco Vilardo (ITA)

*For the men’s tennis panel, there were no further candidates who could be elected for the panel to still meet the regional and ranking requirements. The panel has the option (in consultation with the ITF World Tennis Tour Committee) to appoint a further member who would allow the regional and ranking criteria to be fulfilled.
