Mahak Jain goes down fighting to Barbara Haas in $25,000 tennis in Navi Mumbai
Two-time National champion Mahak Jain went down fighting to second seed Barbara Haas of Austria in the semifinals of the IWTC $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament at the Ganesh Naik Tennis Complex in Navi Mumbai on Friday.
In the decider, Mahak led 3-2 before Barbara ran away with the last four games. Even in the second set, Mahak led 4-1 and she was up 4-3 on serve in the first set.
Mahak converted six of 10 break points, while Barbara won seven of 14 break points.
Second seeds Albina Khabibulina of Uzbekistan and Ekaterina Yashina of Russia won the doubles title.

Singles (semifinals): Diana Marcinkevica (LAT) bt Mariam Bolkvadze (GEO) 7-6(4), 6-0; Barbara Haas (AUT) bt Mahak Jain 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
Doubles (final): Albina Khabibulina (UZB) & Ekaterina Yashina (RUS) bt Berfu Cengiz (TUR) & Jessy Rompies (INA) 6-2, 6-1.
