LR Balaji gets past Digvijay Singh Mehta in AITA men's tennis
LR Balaji overcame a spirited fight from Digivijay Singh Mehta 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 in the quarterfinals of the Rs.100,000 AITA men’s ranking tennis tournament at the Harvest Tennis Accademy, Jassowal, on Wednesday.
In the semifinals, Balaji will challenge second seed Suraj Prabodh. The other semifinal will feature former national champion Dalwinder Singh and Hardeep Singh Sandhu.
Dalwinder and Hardeep also made the doubles final in which they will face Suraj Prabodh and Anuj Malik.

Singles (quarterfinals): Dalwinder Singh bt Drona Walia 7-5, 6-2; Hardeep Singh Sandhu bt Deepinder Singh Bains 6-2, 6-4; LR Balaji bt Digvijay Singh Mehta 6-2, 4-6, 6-1; Suraj Prabodh bt Anuj Malik 6-2, 6-1.
Doubles (semifinals): Dalwinder Singh & Hardeep Singh Sandhu bt Alok Aradhya & Naesar Jewoor 6-2, 6-2; Suraj Prabodh & Anuj Malik bt Amit Bzad & Kshitij Kamal 6-3, 4-6, [10-6].
