Indian girls take on Japan in the opener in Junior Fed Cup
The Indian girls have been clubbed with top seed Australia and fifth seed Japan in group-A of the Asia Oceania Junior Fed Cup under-16 tennis tournament to be played in Bangkok from Monday.
New Zealand will be the other team in the group, from which the top two will qualify for the quarterfinals.
India, with Bhakti Shah, Sudipta Senthilkumar and Sanjana Sirimalla along with Namita Bal as the captain, will open the league phase with the match against Japan.
The groupings:
Pool-A: Australia, India, New Zealand, Japan.
Pool-B: Thailand, Lebanon, Malaysia, Chinese Taipei.
Pool-C: Indonesia, Hong Kong, Pacific Oceania, China.
Pool-D: Korea, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan.
