Dev Javia lines up for another title in ITF junior tennis in Pune
Second seed Dev Javia beat his doubles partner, third seed Rostislav Galfinger of Kazakhstan 6-4, 6-1 to reach the final of the Gadre Marine ITF grade-3 junior tennis tournament at the Deccan Gymkhana in Pune on Friday.
In the final, he will play Vitek Horak of the Czech Republic who knocked out top seed Patorn Hanchaikul of Thailand for the loss of six games.
Dev won the doubles title with the Kazakh, beating Aryaan Bhati aand Uddayvir Singh 6-1, 6-2.
Vipasha Mehra won the girls doubles title in a dramatic fashion, with Yu-Yun Li of Chinese Taipei, with a thrilling 2-6, 7-6(8), 10-3 win over the second seeds, Kirara Morioka of Japan and Maria Sholokhova of Russia.
Vaishnavi Adkar's fine run came to an end as she was beaten 6-3, 6-2 by Tianmi Mi of China.
