Denim yadav knocks out Sushant dabas in Fenesta national sub-junior tennis

Denim Yadav subdued second seed Sushant Dabas 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 to make the under-16 boys semifinals of the Fenesta National sub-junior tennis championship at the DLTA Complex on Thursday.

Denim, another player of considerable ability and composure from the stable of coach Sajid Lodi, who has trained Mahak Jain to back-to-back national women’s titles, was able to tackle the fluent game of forceful left-hander Sushant Dabas.

Top seed Divesh Gahlot overcame a slow start to beat Naresh Badgujar and will play Krish Patel in the semifinals.
In the under-16 girls event, top seed Bhakti Parwani failed to ride on the momentum of a lovely start and got beaten 6-4 in the third set by the free-stroking left-hander Vipasha Mehra.

Vipasha will play Sanjana Sirimalla, while the other semifinals will feature Sunskrithi Damera against Gargi Pawar who overcame the big built power-play of Kashish Bhatia.

Vaishali Adkar overcame a 0-4 start to outwit Renne Singla in straight sets and will face Kundana Bandaru in the under-14 girls semifinals. Renee Singh eased past Suhitha Maruri to set up a semifinal against Maithili Mothe who beat third seed Pari Singh for the loss of five games.

Bushan Haobam teased eighth seed Ajay Singh before a bout of cramps in the decider put paid to his hopes in the under-14 boys quarterfinals. Top seed Udit Gogoi, second seed Aman Dahiya and fourth seed Aayush Bhat were the others book their semifinal berths.
