Dalwinder, Suraj seeded at the top in AITA men's tennis

National champion Dalwinder Singh, and the man whom he beat in the National championship final two years ago, Suraj Prabodh, have been seeded No.1 and 2 respectively in the Rs.100,00 AITA men’s ranking tennis tournament, organised by the Harvest Tennis Academy in Jassowal from Monday.

Owing to the paucity of international events at home, but for the rare exception of the Asian ranking events recently, the competition starved players are happy to capitalise on anything at home.

For Dalwinder and Suraj, who train at the academy under the Serbian coaches, it makes sense to have some competition before they venture out for international events.

For young players like Drona Walia, who qualified and got seeded sixth, it is a boon to compete against quality players in a domestic event.
