Ankita Raina-Rosalie Van Der Hoek enter quarters at WTA Thailand
India’s in-form player Ankita Raina and her dutch partner Rosalie Van Der Hoek got off to a comfortable straight sets win to reach the quarter-finals of the Thailand Open after having defeated the American-Chinese duo of Desirae Krawczyk and Xiaodi You in Hua Hin, Thailand.
Playing their round of 16 match at the $251,750 WTA Thailand event, Ankita (World Rank: 156 in doubles) and Rosalie (World Rank: 132 in doubles) defeated Krawczyk-You 6-4, 6-4 with a total points winning percentage of 53.5 against the 46.5 of their opponents in the duration of one hour and 20 minutes.
Ankita-Rosalie will now face Chinese pair Fang Ying Xun(Rank: 261 in doubles) and Saisai Zheng (Rank: 23 in doubles), who advanced to quarter-finals after knocking out the top seeded Japanese pair of Nao Hibino and Miyu Kato 6-4, 6-3.
